We Are the Medicine

الوصف

Acoustic kirtan, natural room reverb, close warm low-range deep male lead, small-group call-and-response and stacked communal chorus vocals; steady mid-tempo straight-ahead groove, building to broad full choruses, slowing to a devotional chant bridge and resolving softly; sparse acoustic guitar, melodic electric bass hooks and warm chords, Native American flute, didgeridoo, punchy hand percussion and drums, singalong vocal mix. River at my feet Cold and wide and old It don't ask my name It don't need my story It just keeps on moving Like it always has And something in my chest Starts to move the same CHORUS (full band, crowd echoes — stacked harmonies) (Leader) We are the medicine! (Crowd) We are the medicine! (Leader) We are the healers! (Crowd) We are the healers! (Leader) We rise up together! (Crowd) We rise up together! (Leader) We are one! (Crowd) We are one! (All) We are the medicine, we are one! VERSE 2 (same feel — flute enters, didgeridoo drone underneath) Mountain in my back Wind against my face Stone that don't bend Sky that don't break The quiet up here Tells me what I am I am made of that fire I am made of that stone (Repeat CHORUS) BRIDGE (slow devotional chant — didgeridoo and flute, sparse guitar, crowd answering softly) (Leader) Om, the river is in me (Crowd) Om, the river is in me (Leader) Om, the mountain is in me (Crowd) Om, the mountain is in me (Leader) Om, the fire is in me (Crowd) Om, the fire is in me (Leader) Om, we are one (Crowd) Om, we are one (All) Om — hey! FINAL CHORUS (broad, full voice, repeat 3–4x — crowd loudest, stacked harmonies) (Leader) We are the medicine! (Tag — resolves softly, guitar and voices only:) We are the medicine... we are one... Om... om...
